Pacifier Tester Definition:
(a) Pacifier: means an item containing a teat for sucking by an infant, but not intended for feeding an infant, usually consisting of a protective holder and a handle.
(b) Protective bracket: A protective bracket refers to the protective structure under the teat to prevent the child from sucking the entire teat into the mouth during sucking.
(c) Handle: A handle or handle means the part that is attached to the pacifier holder for human grasping. The handle is usually parallel to the plane of the protective frame and can be rotated with the axis.
Pacifier tester operating requirements:
(1) Requirements for the protective bracket: Put the pacifier into the center of the opening of the pacifier tester and pass through the bottom of the device as shown in the figure below. Since the pacifier does not have a circular protective bracket, it is necessary to adjust the main axis direction of the protective bracket to be consistent with the main axis direction of the opening of the test device. Apply tension to the teat in the direction marked. The pulling force shall be applied slowly but not exceeding 2.0 pounds (8.9 Newtons) every 5 seconds, and a force of 2.0 pounds shall be maintained for 10 seconds. Any pacifier that can be fully pulled out of the opening will be rejected.
(2) Protrusion Requirements: Any protrusion from the protective bracket should not exceed 0.63 inches (16 mm).
Records: (1) Mark the unqualified products; (2) Record the inspection results in detail on the report.
